After an not so early start from Moore we headed south towards Wulkuraka. We didn’t really come across anything else we haven’t experienced before along the rail trail. We did stop at one of the creek crossings and did some forensic crash investigation after a rider heading northbound managed to crash and slide into the drainage culvert. I guess this is what happens when you work in the industry and have an unhealthy obsession with forensic science and case study shows. After a longer than normal lunch at Esk, some sight seeing, sending it down the opposite sides of creek crossings (who needs cement pathways anyway) and the shorter winter days we ended up running behind schedule so we put the pedal down between Esk and Wulkuraka. Leaving Fernvale it was going to be tight  on meeting the train so we decided to save a little energy and ride to Ipswich railway station instead. While crossing the bridge we ended up being a few centimetres away from a passing EMU much to the annoyance of Bronwyn listening to the deafening traction motors and vibration on the steel bridge. I on the other hand just took photos.
